...an argument with an F-body owner. It's a religion based on one commandment: "Thine only measure of performance 1/4 mile time. Any other measure is an abomination."
It's an arbitrary measure that everyone can compare (or a single person can compare while they tune their own car).
A stock Aero will pull harder on the highway, stop faster, crash better, get better gas mileage, and (in STOCK form) have a higher top speed etc., but those don't matter to the F-body enthusiast. The car only exists for that 12-15 seconds on the dragstrip, anything else it does is completely irrelevant.
Perhaps the proper answer is...ANYTHING cam be made to go fast in the 1/4...if he's into tuning...a few guys modify turbo Plymouth Voyagers (yes MINIVANS, and late 1980's vintage to boot) that routinely beat camaros on the track. They're on the web (forget site name), even video of tuned Camaros getting utterly humiliated by...minivans.
