as has been repeated over and over again, and over and over again, you cant make a perfect quality assessment about any line of cars, they are all different. my saab has has every problem in the book, yours had zero. our lexus was trouble free, some arent, our chrysler was trouble free (except a CD player that would refuse to take CDs), others are worse.
you can get a general idea by the company, but that really doesnt explain everything. Ford F150s are generally solid performers, Focuses have had a million recalls. well atleast ford decided to issue those recalls at all, unlike saab. also, i personally dont trust consumer reports, or any type of publication about reliability. people will complain when they have problems, the content ones wont worry about complaining about little gripes, etc etc, but still, they are problems. also, those that have had several small issues may rate a company very poorly, while others may rate a company very highly based on the same amount of trouble.
its all subjective and there is no way to find out for sure besides asking lots of owners lots of in depth questions and somehow know they are being 100% honest and use the same rating scale as every other person filling out the survey(which consumer reports does not know at all). if you want specific info, browse the forums of those cars and see what the typical issues are.
