If the pad separated from the trace on the window you need conductive epoxy. Should be available at any real auto parts store. My 2000 had this problem and I was never able to get it to bond - I think it was defective from the factory. The dealer's solution (they also tried the conductive epoxy route) was to replace the rear window. If I was paying for it I'm sure I could have found a way to prep the trace so that it would bond. Since yours was already bonded it should work fine if you prep it properly - which should be in the instructions with the epoxy.
