theft alarm is driving us nuts.

My wife bought a new 2000 9.5 Wagon which has served her well and she wouldn't have any other kind of car. However this past summer, the theft alarm started going off with no provocation and the key would not shut it down. It would eventually stop. We made several time consuming trips to the dealer, whose serice department has been quite good, by the way. Nothing was found amiss and they could not duplicate the situation. However, the alarm has continued to go off occasionally and we are reluctant to take the car on trips.
Removing the fuse shuts down both the alarm AND the AC function which is not acceptable. I would like at least to bypass the siren in the system. Does anyone have any suggestions.
thanks,
Walter
