You have confused products from Mobil and Castrol.
Mobil 1 is a fully synthetic oil. Castrol FakeTek(tm) is a highly hydrocracked petroleum oil known as a group III oil. Most brands of oil are group III oils and given their pricing scructure are a complete rip off *.
Use Mobil 1, Redline or Amsoil products to get a proper synthetic oil.
Mobil 1 is a great choice because you can easily find it on the shelf. M1 0W40 is the best choice these days. Purolator PureOne PL10241 is a better filter (at advance auto parts and others). M1 0W40 is about the only thing that you can buy that meets Saabs current specs for this engine in new vehicles. M1 5W40 (truck and sub) is also a very good oil. Do not use an xW30 oil. And with an older engine with its wear and larger clearances, a W40 oil simply works better.
* The exception is Shell Rotella Synthetic in 1 gallon jugs at Wallmart for $12.88. This group III oil is priced where is should be. You can find that same product at some auto parts shops for 5 or 6 dollars more - at the normal group III ripoff prices.
