APC Troubleshooting

The saga continues... My base boost is now set properly and I am beginning to troubleshoot the APC system. This is of course because I am only getting base boost. I have replaced all vacuum lines and ensured that I have good connections all around. I bought one of these little circuit tester light things today. My question is...When clamping one end of the tester to a good ground and touching the pointed end to one of the APC solenoid connector leads, should it light up (key turned to run)? I have done this test with the pressure transducer as well with negative results. I assume that I am not getting power to these components. Where should I start to troubleshoot? I checked that the APC box connector was secured in place. Fuses are good. I thought about checking for power on one of the wires coming out of the APC box but I am unsure which wires are for the solenoid and the transducer. This way I could at least make sure that the APC box is online. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you.
