Eric
I know how you feel, these Saabs are difernt but I like it. So far I'm enjoying working on this thing more than any car I've owned. It seems well thought out. You need a manual not the Haynes its not very helpful. It sounds like the Bently is the one to get.I did it without it. Be sure and mark the position of the shifter where its mounted to the floor (this is the shifter adjustment). I'd pull the whole shifter assembly (also
mark the shifter rod where it disconects by the transmission) , Grease the shifter bushings, and replace the ignition switch why your at it. It's woreout to and will cause grief later.
The shifter is atached to the floor with 3 point nuts I did'nt buy the tool, I used a Dremel tool to gain acsess to the two front nuts, (look at the rear one) then I used a punch and a hamer to remove them an put them back it worked fine. I'd be glad to answer any questions to help.
These are cool cars.
