uh oh, my shifter is notchy as well and crunches when I put it into reverse. I guess I have to replace that thing we call a pilot bearing on american cars. How much of a pain in the ass is this job? I guess a new clutch is in order if I get that far into the car too huh? I just figured the tranny was old 114k on it. However, this explanation makes sense. Why didn't I think of that.
