I would add my $0.02 here by saying that 50/50 is ideal, period, with the same size (width) tire patch at all 4 corners. Indy cars run 40/60 with significantly larger tires at the rear to carry that extra lateral load while cornering. What is more telling than the static weight distribution is the polar moment of inertia about the Z axis. These Japanese cars with 60/40 and the whole engine and transmission hung out IN FRONT of the axle is much worse than our c900's with a significant portion BEHIND the axle. It is like a scalpel as opposed to a sledge hammer navigating a curve! If you could look at a DTM or ITC fwd car, you would see that they reposition the engine BEHIND the axle line as well as setting it lower in the chassis to enhance cornering capability.
