While not being good for it, I don't think any permanent damage is done after popping it just a few times. On one occasion after I had popped the clutch to start it, blue smoke started coming out of the tailpipe. I would assume it forced oil around a seal into a cylinder, because it has never done it since. Of course, I havn't pop started since then either.
What is bad on the clutch is allowing it to slip enough to burn the contact surfaces. Believe me, if your clutch is slipping you'll want to fix it ASAP!
