As I've heard the story, it was developed by the Air Force or for the AF during the Atlas/Nike missile silo era for electrical contacts. It is simply an electrical water displacement compound with some superficial lubricating and anticorrosive properties that turned out to be corrosive in the long run. I wouldn't recommend it for cleaning out the AIC valve, although it may work. You can probably use WD40 on the electrical part of the valve, but as for the valve itself,
Try CARB CLEANER! And don't worry about an unlubricated valve...the airstream will lubricate it soon enough.
