my experience with that symptom were due to the hall sensor plug on side of distributor.clean it with electrical cleaner, relube with contact lube. I fixed mine by carfully refabbing the connection, ended up soldering on a custom plug pigtail. this is very difficult to troubleshoot. could be aic but that won't die quickly...rather chokes and dies. sudden off is always electrical or fuel. meaning ecu as well. could be bad ground at ecu.
