and talking with a couple of high school aged counter help.
They suggested a flexible primer. They also said that the
paint should have a flex agent added. They quoted about $90
for quart quantities of flex, paint, catalyist, hardener,
no primer.
From my own personal experience the prep. is the key.
I used a lot of wax/grease remover.
Lots of sanding with fine steel wool/wet paper.
I just did my front/rear bumpers on my 'base' '88.
Although I have to admit I got lazy and just used
a couple cans of Flexible Bumper Paint by DupliColor
from Sherwim/Williams sold at AutoZone.
All I did was remove bumpers and trim, clean,
buff/scratch, clean, paint. Its gets harder if the
clear coat is flaking or you have gouges. DupliColor
comes in flat grey or flat black.
