The first thing you need to do is not compare it to your wife's new Saab. Just look at her payment, and insurance rates. My current '88 SPG, purchased with 112k miles needed 1500 dollars just in parts before I felt it was truley roadworthy. It was also checked out to be in excellent condition. Having owned a previous Saab turbo, and with the help of this BB, I have saved thousands of dollars in mechanics labor fees by doing all of the work myself. It is both rewarding and at times very frustrating to service these cars. When was the last time you saw another car like yours? There is a certain exclusivity about them. Where am I headed with this post? Just this, I love this car most of the time, hate it some of the time. I love the satisfaction of taking care of problems myself. I love the fact that I will almost never pass another one the road(at least in SC). Once I got the car in a good state of repair, and tackle other problems timely, it has been extremely reliable. My last repair on my car was two years ago. But as I say that, I am due for another round repairs soon. I know enough now to plan my repairs around my life and not the other way around. Enough now of the rambling.
