I am trying to find out about the Red APC boxes that came from Saab as an upgrade. Does anyine *know* the following:
1 Were they all the same HP or did they increase in later years.
2 What is the HP they are rated at. The manuals seem to say 170HP but I have also heard that Saab used those in the 185HP special edition 900's they made in the last year of production. Also is the Red box what came standard in the later (90+91) SPG?
3. What difference, if any, is there betwwen a box made for a 9000 (86-91) and the 900 box. They are physically the same with the 9000 box just missing the brackets to mount it to the fender. As both cars have 2.0 motors I wonder what they might have done differently. I have put a Red 9000 box (made in 88) in my 86 SPG and it works great with the exception of an overboost now and then. I am wondering if this is beacause it was made for a 9000.
Any help is appreciated. I am not sure if anyone really knows the answer or just will have stories of what they have heard.
