bent rear axel??????

I recently had my front end aligned. The garage that did it told me that there is a slight bend in my rear axel. They told me because of this slight bend that it will cause my rear tires to bald very rapidly which they have been. I was told that alignment shops that are equipped to align ford trucks should be able to bend the axel straight again. Has anyone heard of this? Is this possible or will I have to replace the rear axel?
