Ok, here is what I did a few years ago. remove the stub axle assembly along with the drive shaft as a whole unit. First remove the axle nut, then remove the clamp holding the inner joint boot( at the tranny). Then remove all of the bolts holding the ball joints to the A-arms. Remove the tie rod end. Oops forgot, also remove the brake caliper, and support it so that it is not hanging by the brake line. Once you remove the whole unit out of the car, cut away what is left of the boot. You will see a large ring clip in the CV joint(back side of the brake sheild), expand this clip and pull back on the axle. It should come away from the stub axle. slide on your new boot relube with quality bearing grease and reassemble. Remember to be CLEAN. It is a good idea at this time to inspect all other items(ball joints, brake pads and others) at time to see if they should be renewed while you are here. Otherwise not a bad job. It is recommended by the manual that once you remove the axle nut that you should use a new one. I have known many people who reuse them but use a red locktite product to reseal the threads. You descide which you will do. But unless you use new locking nuts on all bolts, you should use the locktite on all of them. Also dont forget to block the upper A-arm before you jack up the car. In the interest of brevity I have left out some obvious things that you will find in the manual. Also, dont be tempted to use the split boot replacements sold at local parts stores. They dont work, dont waste your time and money. Hope this helps.
