Thanks Kevin, I may try that. I have been working on the cold-start issue myself. This past weekend, I swapped out the Aux. Air Valve with one from a '83T parts car I had a while back - major improvement! Cold-start idle is now at ~1200 rpm, versus the stumbling, coughing ~500 rpm I am used to. After about 2 minutes of idling, idle drops to ~1000 rpm and by the time I get to work, it is right at ~900 where I like it. I now realize that the AAV has been faulty the entire time I have owned the car. The AAV is easy to test, it should be fully open when cold, and completely closed when hot.
I also replaced one of those two sensors on the lower thermostat housing a few weeks ago... I think it was called the Lambda thermal sensor? It had two wires leading to it. This also made a big improvement in cold-running.
Thanks again for the info.
