The S Type looks more like the Sable than the Taurus. I believe that a company can use the same chasies to make very different cars, and I do believe that the S-Type is probably the leather lines pimp wagen it portends to be. However, I hate its looks, but not because it looks like a Sable (which is does), but because it looks too fat. Its profile is miserable, looking more like a WW I English tank than the old Jag it feebly imitates. Now, my boss' XKR, well, thats the real deal, as is the XJ model.
As an aside, I drove a 540i with a six speed over the weekend. All I can say is "Holy Sh!t!!!!" I hate driving a car like that, and then returning to my 1992 Saab with all of its creaks, crapy shifting, road noise, etc. If I had an extra 58,000 . . .
