there is definantly a bit more to be concerned with w/o a solid roof over the head to reduce wind noise. I do not have pics on how it was done because I didn't do the work. Dave N's site has pics of the speakers after the work his adress is http://www.geocities.com/davenew.geo/ & go to the gary's kick panel link or to the photo gsallery.
Anyways, putting almost any seaker in a sealed enclosure will greatly increase the frequency response of the speakers. So you would need less power to attain a certain volume of music :o) My old Adcom amp was only 40x4 & it was plenty of volume to hear the speakers at 100+ MPH with the windows down, but yes its a lot different then a convertible.
I am not sure what the exact results would be with kicks in a convert but in my 87 SPG, it sounds by far better then anything else I have tried.
