What you want is less decrease in RPM of the Turbine.
Here's a few ideas:

1. Fatter down-pipe (turbine-to-cat) aka Dump-tank.
2. Bypass (or blow-off) valve to relieve compressor-bind.

The silencer (muffler) is less of a problem, It's the cat. That is the most restrictive part of your exhaust system, and unless you want to rip out the legal requirement, your best bet is to modify what is BEFORE the cat.

Although many will tend to argue otherwise (putting on a flame-retardant suit now), anything rear-ward of the cat is "MOSTLY" cosmetic and/or just a contraption to reduce exhaust noise.

Get a nice 3" down-pipe and a killer bypass valve to keep that turbine spooled up (that little thing spins at nearly 100K RPM). ...and shift quickly & smoothly.
