Fast idle and warm starting problem

I have an 88 Saab 900 Conv. turbo that I recently purchased. I am currently having a problem where it will start fine when the engine is cold, but will idle fast even after it has warmed up. After I turn the car off and then try to restart the car, it will not start....at least not very easy. I could finally get it started after pressing the gas pedal to the floor and cranking a long time.
Any ideas on what this problem may be?? Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards,
Drew
