I put 12v right to the pump and turned it on, then I managed to start the car (after taking 12v off and about 5 more min. of fiddling with it....). It started right up and had no problems at all. I drove about 8 miles where I parked on level ground for about 15 min. I got backk in, started fine and drove about 6 miles. Parked on a very slight uphill and turned the car off. 10 min later it wouldnt run. I could get it to start but thats about all. It would sputter and then shut off, if I hit the gas it would shut off faster (stall out). It is now sitting down in town... I looked to make sure I was getting spark (yes) so thats not the issue...
My thoughts..... The fuel pump is not turning on during the crank session of starting and is therefore not pressurizing the system and allowing the car to start. When I put 12v on it earlier I pressurized the system enough to start it and then the pump came on (is this right? does the pump come on after it recog. rpm signal and during crank?) When I parked the first time (flat ground) no fuel flowed back into the tank and I was able to start it on the fuel left in the lines, when I parked on the uphill the lines emptied and I now dont have the pressure to start it.....
IN ANY CASE
its due at the shop by 12:00 tomorrow and i'm trying to not pay for a tow (at least 60 bucks)
