1980 900 GLi, 4speed. I drove it from 85,000 to 145,000 before it was totalled in a crash. No tranny problems.
1983 900 base 4door. Dad's car from ~30,000 to ~150,000 miles. No tranny problems.
1983 900 Turbo, 5speed. Driven from 135,000 to 235,000 before it was parked and retired. No tranny problems.
1986 900 Turbo, 5speed. Driven from 165,000 to 205,000 before tranny failure. The tranny seized and the car skidded to a halt in the middle of the road. The previous owner told me that he had rebuilt the transmission at 80,000 miles.
1986 900 base 4door 5speed. Mom's car from ~40,000 to ~165,000 miles before tranny failure. Car coasted to side of road. Most likely origional tranny.
1989 900 base 3door 5speed. Dad's car from 23,000 to 150,000 miles. No tranny problems.
1986 SPG. My daily driver. Purchased with 159,000 miles. Tranny rebuild at 190,000 miles. Now has 195,000. Drives like new (actually better, due to performance upgrades)
