Since the front wheel bearing used before the 9000 brakes were fitted to the C900 is the same as the bearing used after, doesn't that mean the wheel hub and rotor from an '87 can be mounted to an '88 steering member?
If so, will it line up properly with the '88 caliper? I know the rotor thickness is different, but given the travel range of the brake piston, shouldn't the difference be negligible? Although the overall depth of the '87 rotor is greater, if mounted on '88 swivel and shorter '88 axles, will the wheel's position relative to the outer edge of the fender change?
I'd like to attempt this hybrid but I don't want to acquire the parts in vain. Any constructive input is desired. Please don't suggest complete '88 swap-over; that will only the fun out of this.
