If you are unable to pull the yolk towards the outside to replace tohe outer pad, it is likely that the secondary piston, on the opposite side of the piston that you screwed in, is frozen. If you have tried to force the yolk outboard with lots of force, but no success, then it's time for new calipers. With new ones, you can easily pull the yolk out by hand to make room for the outboard pad. I had the same problem on an 85 and ended up getting new calipers from sobstory, a site sponsor. The new caipers come with the pads included and are a bargain.
