First, if the car has the feed-pump & main-pump configuration (like your '86?), then none of this applies.
Walbro is the mfg. of the pump. Depending on turbo vs. not, or depending on VIN, the car may have come with a Walbro pump. Its inside of a plastic can with hoses & stuff. You can either replace the whole assembly or just the pump itself. My '89 non-turbo is like that & I just replaced the pump for less than 1/2 the cost. It also took me 2 tries to get the right pump. It was from a parts store which I really trust, but his suppliers' listings were not very helpful. I don't really doubt the Ford match, but I don't know exactly which Ford...
Look at the fuelpump fitting on the gas tank. I believe they look different from the outside. If it looks like the '86 then its probably not the Walbro type? I think the non-Walbro type looks like a funnel. I know the Walbro type looks like a flat plastic piece held in with a big plastic ring which unscrews like the top of a big jar. Somebody with a non-Walbro '86 could probably help out by describing it???
If the car is not running anyway, maybe take the pump out to match it up... If its like mine, there is a plastic clamp holding the two hoses & wiring. (Disconnect the battery so you don't start a fire) Unplug the wire& pull the hose elbows straight up out of their holes. Then you want to hold the center part stationary while you unscrew the big black plastic ring. Then push the center plate down a bit (into the gas tank) so you can remove the big rubber gasket. With the gasket off, the whole assmebly can be removed from the tank.
