Welcome back. My thought is that a non-turbo is better than no SAAB at all.
The 2.1 has better pickup from a dead stop than a 900T has. If you do a lot of in-town driving, that's an advantage. You don't say how many miles on it, but if it's approaching 100k, the concensus is that you should save some money for a head gasket.
Gee, what hassles did you get with your Turbo? My SPGs have been more trouble-free than my 900S was.
