I have had an ongoing problem with the loose steering in my car and I just want it fixed. Before I took it to my shop it was very bad with about an inch of play in the wheel both ways. The car is really a pain to drive at highway speeds as it swerves from side to side and feels like you do not have control. When I took it to my shop they said my left ball joint needed to be replaced so I got that replaced. After I took it on the highway I realized it was still not fixed so I took it back in. They said it was most likely the steering rack and that would need to be replaced. They came out as I was waiting for the car and said some of my steering components were loose and so they tightened them(i'm not sure what they did). I took the car for a drive and it felt A LOT better but once on the highway it still did the same thing. I took it back and told them to get the steering rack replaced and that still has not fixed it. I really want to get this fixed as it is incredibly annoying and makes the car not as much fun to drive.

If anyone has had this problem before or knows what needs to be replaced, please let me know.
