sensitivity, higher is better! For every 3 db (like 91 db to 94 db) the sound level is twice as loud to our ears, it also takes twice as much power to deliver that extra 3db! So if you had a 100 watt amp going though a speaker & say 91 db was the result, a 200w amp would theoretically power it to 93 db & a 400w amp 96 db etc.....
So when you se the audio competition vehicles hitting 160+++ DB's, tons of power!!!
THD wise power level has NOTHING to do with it! Ther are TON of amps rated at 300w, 500w, 1000w & the THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) is like 1.??? at that rated power. Take a amp like my Adcom's & it's THD is in the .003 range while most amps are in the .03 area, so it's a TON cleaner even though it's only 75x4.
S/N ration higher is better but I forget the definition :o(
