It’s my brother Rob's car a 90 900T that I’ve been fixing for him. I replaced the distributor/cap/rotor, plugs, TPS switch, grommets on intake and many feet of vacuum tubing. We bought the stage 1 turbo and the car was running like crap. I’ve been tuning it over the last couple of weeks and I've got it really dialed in. Boosts well in to the 22-24's and only tapers to 16-18psi, I cant believe how hard the car slams you into the seat now. It’s amazing.
Anyhow I installed the above parts and took it for a spin at 3am. Perfect idle, smooth power, no ejection seat. After 15miles I get of the freeway to turn around and, I find there is an erratic idle. I pull over and pop the hood thinking that I popped a vacuum hose. To my surprise I find coolant coming from under the cap. I was advised to replace the thermostat, since it "might" be sticking and causing the car to boil over.
I replaced it and it's still leaking after a good run. Am I over analyzing this?? The car continues to boost to 24 psi, even though I keep backing the P pot off. I’m just concerned since it is a stock gasket and well I really don’t have the time to change it if it goes out again.
Id like to get this fixed before the 30lbs and Dawes device show up Monday.
