Had a similar problem once. As it turned out the insulation on the coil wire had deteriorated and on wet days moisture would ground the coil wire to the radiator bracket. One way to discern if there is a short with the spark plug or coil wires is at night with th car running use a mist sprayer around the cap/ rotor and coil wires. If there is a problem with grounding or shorting you will see little sparks. Sometimes subtle. Sometimes not so subtle. Another possibility is a loose battery cable that is grounding out but this might be a reach.
