Yup, quite possible, I have this setup on my 88 900S. All you need to is run one wire from each of the 2 wires going to the Thermoswitch, and run them back to a switch in the cabin of the car. When you flick the switch, it will bridge the two wires, causing the fan to turn on. And yes, it still comes on automatically when it needs to. I had to do this on my car before I was able to pick up and install the lower temperature thermoswitch and thermostat. Once I got those 2 items in, the fans always kick in plenty early enough (temp never gets about 1/2) to keep the engine from overheating, and I don't need to use that switch anymore..
