Master cylinder reservoir question

Yesterday I spent a considerable amount of time trying bleed my slave cylinder after installing a new clutch. Nothing seemed to work. The P/O had the brake master cylinder replaced & I believe that the mechanic did not cut off the outlet line on the reservoir. I could not get a coat hanger to feed into the clutch master supply line when entering through the reservoir, it stopped at the point inwhich I feel the line should have been cut. Can anyone feed a coat hanger into the cutch master cylinder supply line. I intend to remove the supply hose today and see what I find.
This should be an easy fix, I hope.
Thanks in advance.
