BillT. I'm sorry--I just read your email again and you did say it was a 1988. Let me tell you about my experiences with blowing fuses. I have a 1986 SAAB Turbo 16 Valve 900. It was blowing fuse #25. I troubleshooted this problem for days. I'm always tryiing to do a quick fix but let me tell you--it was a pain in the rear. I got a lot of good advice from this board. I started disconnecting things to see if the fuse would still blow. In my case I had to remove many wires before I located the problem.

First, I would disconnected the air conditioner compressor. There is one lead to that connection and see if the fuse still blows. Next, try disconnecting the power pack resistor and see if that makes a difference(you can get to it by removing the left speaker). I hate to say this, but you may have to remove the instructment panel to get to the wires. You might have two wires that are old and rubbing together--causing the fuse to blow. Try pulling the radio out and look to see if the wires connected to the distribution switch are not touching together. You may have wire rubing together.

With this type of problem, it is this trial an error. Could be a tired blower fan. Let us know what you come up with. If you would like, you can email me a ghci@loc.gov. Do you have a wiring diagram. I believe you can get one on the Townsend website at http://www.townsendimports.com. Hope this helps. george.
