I have a 1991 900 Turbo and have been having a problem recently when I am driving in traffic (accelerating in any gear, usually 1, 2, or 3rd, and suddenly popping the clutch and putting the trans in neutral as I coast up to the next inevitable red light). When I pop the clutch the RPM's come down but don't stop at the normal idle speed of 850. Instead, the revs fall until at about 500 RPM's or lower it is 'caught' and brought back up to normal idle speed...850. Funny thing is, once brought back up the idle stays right there and doesn't fall or go up and down erratically. Sometimes, the revs fall right to 0 and I suddenly find myself coasting along with the warning lights on. Anyone know if this is an AIC function? ECU function? It just seems like whatever is supposed to control the RPM reduction from high RPMs to idle speed isn't working right. Thanks for any help!
