that I know in the event that may destroy the car [ '87 900T 156K ] I may come out unhurt. This was one of the reasons I started driving Saabs years ago. ['69 96 / '78 EMS 99 ] In the early '60's Saabs were known for having much more occupant protection designed into them than most other cars. I have settled into driving and playing with Saabs only. V4 96 & Sonett, stroker 96, '76 EMS [ occasional autocrosser ] and 5-6-7 ? or is it 10 project Saabs. I will be picking up an '86 900T tomorrow that suffered a lower ball joint failure. It has 250+ K on it but it is very straight and will clean up reasonably well, though I may have to pull power unit to replace upper left A-arm. I still advise people that if they can handle the maintenance on a car 15-20 years old the c900 is one of the best to have. Good friend who drives an '84 900S in extremely beautiful original condition at 288K encountered a woman driving a very clean c900 at an event and casually commented on her car and that he loves his even with 288K - she replied that it is a great car and has 742K on it. He was humbled and a bit embarrassed. I love those stories!!
