No issues. The new style requires some sort of a kit to be used in an older car. I am guessing it is to do with a couple of rubber support thingies and the fan shrouds need to be finessed a bit according to a couple of posters. Saab changed from Brass to AL sometime between 89 and 92 (My 89 still has the original brass radiator no leaks, cools fine and 210kmi). The brass is less efficient by an immesurable amount and slightly heavier but probably more robust. On all counts not an issue to worry about from a mechanical perspective IMO. The positive side is the concours points you will get at a future SOC show. Put her back together and be happy you will get concours points for an original type radiator!
