Why is the driver's side wet?

My new (old) '86 SPG sits on a driveway outside my house (previous owner kept the car garaged). In the last couple of days, we've had some relatively heavy rain. This morning, I noticed a slightly damp smell, and I found that the driver's side floor board was damp. The rest of the floor board is dry (i.e., not the typical leakage through the heater box problem).
Does anyone have any idea what the source of the leak might be (or what is most likely)? A possible suspect might be something in/on the driver's side door. The bottom has some rust (causing some holes, I think), and it seemed a little wet at the bottom when I opened it up this morning.
