I am trying to track down the reason for low boost levels in my 88 900T 16v and I am using your APC trouble shooting section of your website as a guide.
Right now the car has the base boost set at about 3.5 or 4 psi. Peak boost pressure is set at about 8 or 9 psi. This all started when I went to set the base boost. No matter how I turn the wastegate rod my base boost stays the same. The wastegate holds vacum and appears to move freely.
I worked my way through the check list until I reached the section on the APC solenoid. I follwed the directions and when I blew through the C port on the solenoid with no power air came out of the W port. When the solenoid was powered up and I blew through the C port air came out of the both the R and W ports. According to your guide air should have only come out of the R port correct?
Would a faulty APC Solenoid cause the odd behavior that I obsereved before?
