repost, for recent q's:

All USA C900 FANS (2.1L na exceptions noted)

RAD_FAN ..... passenger side ... fuse #25 M84+
AC_FAN ...... driver side ...... fuse #6 M84+
fan-switch .. top of radiator, driver's side

IN SHORT:

* With hot rad, fan-switch closes and both fans come on (only rad fan, 2.1L).

* Run AC, both fans run, and the 'rad' fan will cycle on and off with the compressor.

AC MODE DETAILS:

With AC button on, AC FAN relay (155) turns on AC_FAN full time, powered by fuse #6. Normally, the compressor will cycle off, based on near freeze-up sensed in the cold coil. If this sensor is happy, the compressor relay (156) kicks compressor back on, and also provides an isolated bypass to the stuff that normally turns the RAD_FAN on. So, AC borrows the RAD_FAN, powered by fuse #25, whenever the compressor has cycled on. If both fans run full time, the cold coil is NOT getting too cold, or there is a fault.

RAD COOLING DETAILS:

With hot rad, fan-switch closes, allows voltage to RAD_FAN, from fuse #25. A wire, connected to the RAD_FAN feed wire, also allows voltage to go to an isolated trigger at the AC_FAN relay (except 2.1L). This relay turns on the AC_FAN (as in AC mode), powered by fuse #6.

QUICK TESTS: engine off

1) FAN_SWITCH TEST: Connect 2 wires to the fan switch together. Key off, RAD_FAN (pass side) is on, except no fan runs (with cold engine) for M84-90 with delay relays. Key on, BOTH fans run, all years (RAD_FAN only for 2.1L).

2) AC_TEST: Turn cabin fan on, ac button on. Key off, no fans. Key on, if freon is loaded, AC_FAN (driver side) comes on all years. Some years may run RAD_FAN too (For M81-83, AC_FAN only. For M84-85, I think both fans should run. Not sure if both run with later models)
