A Saab tech or some DMV schmo?
Wheel bearings fail gradually (sneaks up on ya). Driving straight it's a 'tire noise' like hum that gets much louder and grainy-er when you push it on an off ramp or high-speed corner (L bearing on R turn, and v.v.). 'Bout $200-250 to repair (gotta take both BJ, the tie end, brake caliper... off to do).
Think BJ have to be awfully bad to cause what you say; usually hard clunk over bumps/holes, car feels loose if all/most bad. $100-130 ea.
Consider having tires balanced - common simple cause of vibration that 'appears' above 55 or 65mph. Rim weight falls off, or rim dinged, or whatever.
