SOC Concourse Judging Rules Posted by Randy Thatcher [Email] (#22) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Randy Thatcher) on Tue, 3 Dec 2002 09:21:20 In Reply to: Original Tires on a 94 C900TC (Comm Ed)?????, Smooooth, Tue, 3 Dec 2002 07:55:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
If I recall correctly the judges make sure all 4 match and are in good condition (clean, shined up, good tread left, etc.), and the rims are stock. I have a hard time thinking *anyone* knows what was stock. Oftentimes more than 1 tire will be put on a model during a model year. Some might get Michelins while others gets Good Year... Sometimes it's based on trim level, sometimes they change suppliers during the year.
That said, get what you like. Personally, I really like the Toyo's the previous owner put on my 94 CE ragtop. Quiet comfy ride. If I get new tires I'll get the ones with the best hydroresistance I can find, as hydroplaning is a major fear of mine. Obviously good ride and noise are factors, too.
Why do I think I don't have a chance against you next year? :) I hope I can make it to SOC03. Wedding season is really heating up for next year, and we plan to move to the west coast. If I'm in CA by then, no SOC for me!
Cheers!
Randy
