The only thing that you might want to ammend is, instead of pulling the Hall Effect sensor connector (they're really brittle on '88 and earlier) or the coil wire, is to pull the fuel pump fuse when you crank the car to get the oil circulating the first time. Pulling the coil wire won't disable the fuel pump and you don't want raw gas diluting the oil film or wetting the plugs while you crank it.
