also check turbo transducer and overpressure switch located under the dash driver's side. I would pull the knee bolster out and maybe drivers seat to get pleanty of room. Is cruise control working? Many times the vac hoses in the dash will crack and split. You can check the turbo gauge with a MITYVAC tester either bought or sometimes loaned by aotu parts stores.
If you hear hissing under the dash with the car running iwould say your transducer or overpressure switch has a hole in its diaphram.
