1990 SPG I got the car in Sept. and have been away with the Reserves for the past 3 months. I got home last week and ordered brakes from Mannheim Auto in PA. These are the cross drilled rotors and shoes for all 4 corners. So I get to put them on yesterday and what do I find? The left front hub has one of the studs that holds the wheel on broken off in it! Not too big of a deal so I figure that since I live close to Hunt Valley Saab that I could just take it there and have them extract it. If I take it there, I know that they have the stud to replace it and that I don't have to wait for them to get the part. No big deal I figure. I'll be in and out in 1 hour or so, yeah right! I get there at 8am sharp and I am immediately met with the most overwhelming sense of "what the hell are you coming here for?" attitude. The service guy made me feel like I was more of a bother to their business. So he gives me an estimate of $85 and tells me to wait upstairs in the waiting area. Not too bad at all. Lots of New Saabs to look at and magazines to read. So I am there for almost an hour and he comes up to give me the bad news. He tells me that they can't/won't attempt to extract the stud unless I am prepared to pay for a new hub. He tells me that if it goes bad that they'll have to replace the hub and bearing. After he tells me this he adds that it'll take a week to get a hub and bearing in because they don't stock older parts like that. He then tells me that my car is outside and that I could come down and get my keys. No kidding! I took the car there because of the conveniance and because of the fact that I knew that they could do the job and do it right. I didn't expect to have them try to slam me and make me feel like crap. I felt about an inch tall when I walked out of the building. I can tell you that when I do buy a new Saab that I will go out of my way to go to VOB or travel into PA or VA to get one. I have NEVER been made to feel like that in my life. I'll get the stud out myself. I just didn't want to have to deal with it. So now I will spend a day at Crazy Rays getting a stud and maybe a hub then putting it on. Just venting alittle. Hope I didn't offend anyone.
