Shift Shaft Seal, shift shaft seal, shift shaft seal Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Mon, 3 Mar 2003 15:02:23 In Reply to: Re: Clutch Master Cylinder, Anton, Sun, 2 Mar 2003 22:45:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
There! Thought you couldn't say it three times in a row without messing up?
Seriously, this seal has NOTHING to do with the clutch/brake hydraulic system - it seals the transmission. But the proximity of its location below the clutch master cylinder, and/or the fact that they are sometimes a bit "wet" with lubricant may be fooling you. Look at some of the previous posts in this chain for ideas.
1. it is very easy to see if the six-inch rubber hose between the fluid reservoir and the clutch master is disconnected or loose. Grab it lightly and wiggle it a little bit.
2. Where this hose connects to the top of the clutch master cylinder is a small, rounded plastic connector with a hose nipple on top. When mine broke, this entire piece popped off.
3. Other leak somewhere on the clutch master cylinder.
Good luck!
