GM, the only reason you don't like the idea of my cheaper short-shifters is because I undercut your market, which you had cornered a couple of years ago at over $400 a kit. Had it not been for me, you would NEVER had lowered your price like you did. You like to say how the all metal versions you peddle are so much better, but the facts are that the shifters I make are PLENTY strong enough for their purpose, and just because something is made out of metal does not make it better. I have even heard from people that have tried both your kits and mine, that mine have a superior shifting feel and quality, which does not suprise me considering the stock nylon bushings are much smoother in operation than an all metal bearing. If you are shifting your saab to the point that you need an all metal shifter mechanism for reasons of strength, there is definitely something wrong with your driving style, which might help explain your Saab's appetite for transmission rebuilds GM, as I am sure most of us have heard about. When all is said and done, and someone has one of my shifters installed, you can't even see the difference between mine and yours, since they are completely covered by the shifter boot, and mine is even said to feel smoother, and the customer has at least $100 more left in their wallet that they can use to spend on whatever other performance part they choose for their Saab. Yours definitely looks prettier straight out of the box, but mine works better and is cheaper. Of the 50-plus shifters I have sold in the past 3 years, no one has broken one yet, and no one has had a problem with them not being strong enough. Also, on our cars, these shifters should not be used to make it shifter faster, as you say, but rather is designed to transform the feel of the car and the way it shifts. These transmission tolerate very little abuse, as you know, so getting a short-shifter because you want to shift faster is a real bad idea. Buy my short-shifter if you want to transform the feel of your car and make it shift like you always wanted it to, like JJ put so eloquently.
