Summit sells a NASCAR/circle track style "steering quickener" which mounts inline with the steering shaft...increase/decrease ratio by 30% or 50%-sells for around $160...they sell the Howe mfd. version, but from reports I've read the Coleman unit is better...alot of rally guys use these things...

P/S ratio = 3.6 turns lock to lock
the '79 900 EMS came with a special 3.5 TLL manual rack(opposed to standard man. rack= 4.2TLL)...I finally found one,but would rather have about a 2.5TLL ratio, which more & more modern cars seem to have...there is a company in the UK (trans auto sport) that makes a line of quick ratio rack kits called "kwik rak",they have no Saab application but I contacted them & they didn't want to do a "one off"...this leaves me with the "steering quickener" option...I still haven't found out who manufactured the manual racks for Saab...if I knew perhaps I could locate a proper sized rack,I'm still doing "research" trying to find a suitable rack that will fit Saab application...I'm about to give up & just buy the dern "quickener"!

2003 Mitsu Evo8=2.1 TLL
2003 'vette Z06=2.7 TLL
2003 BMW M3 =3.2 TLL
2003 Nissan 350Z= 2.6 TLL
2003 Range Rover HSE= 3.5 TLL
2003 Infiniti M45= 2.9 TLL
2002 Jaguar Xtype= 2.5 TLL
2003 Cadillac CTS = 3.4 TLL
2002 Saab 9-5 aero= 2.9 TLL
