SiS & SPG Questions

I purchased my '88 black 900 convertible in '96 (with 41k miles) from a couple who also knew little of the Springtime in Sweden significance, but simply informed me that it was a SiS, and said that very few were actually shipped to the US. Beyond this I know nothing more...only that I don't recall seeing another 900 with the same width of plastic side molding, which I find very attractive. So, seven years and 61k miles later, I'm finally getting around to learning more about the great car I own!
If someone is willing to jump in and give me the basic SiS-101 course, I'd be most grateful!
Here are my questions:
1- How is a SiS ed. actually different from other 900s?
2- What years were SiS 900s made?
2- What's the diff. b/w SiS and SPG?
3- Can a 1988 be both an SPG and a SiS?
4- How can I be sure that mine is truely a SiS? (I have no SiS plaque on the glovebox door, however there has always been a little adhesive residue on the door making me think it may have been there at one time.)
Many thanks in advance for any shared knowledge!
David
